SSM Hospice and Home Care Foundation is dedicated to providing financial, physical and emotional support to our patients and their families through our life-honoring programs.
Foundation programs offered include:
Patient and Family Emergency Financial Assistance (The Dr. Robert Kingsbury Patient and Family Emergency Assistance Fund) – helps qualified patients with expenses to maintain quality of life, such as rent and mortgage payments, utility payments, and more.
MAGIC – a children’s bereavement program designed to help children work through their grief after experiencing the loss of a loved one.
Music Therapy (Peaceful Harmony) – a certified music therapy utilizes live music to decrease a patient’s anxiety and pain, promote relaxation, facilitate communication and improve overall quality of life.
Comfort Touch Massage Therapy – a complimentary massage therapy that is available to hospice patients to promote relief from pain.
SSM My Legacy – gives hospice patients the opportunity to preserve their memories and stories through video Life Reviews and photos.
Memories That Last – helps make our hospice patients’ last wishes come true.
Peaceful Moments – provides a reassuring presence to patients and families or to patients who would otherwise be alone in their final hours of life.
Rehabilitative Therapies (The Vicki Horst Memorial Rehabilitation Fund) – funds services not supported by government or commercial pay for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
The SSM Hospice and Home Care Foundation is non-profit, 501(c)(3). Under direction of regional Boards of Trustees, the Foundation raises funds via appeals, personal and corporate donations, events and grants. Patients or primary care givers may request assistance by contacting their SSM Social Worker.
